Week 6: Hualien & Taroko National Park 13.10 - 19.10.2014

We left Taipei on Friday morning to Hualien by train which took 3 hours. There went to the hostel first and after we rented a scooter for the weekend. The price was 500 TWD for a day and nobody wanted to see a driving licence. After we got the scooters we went to drive along the coast line, which had some beautiful sights.
On Saturday we went to the Taroko National Park, we didn’t go hiking, because the trail we wanted to hike was closed and for the many of the open once we would have needed a mountain permit. So we ended up driving around the National Park, not sure if it would be possible to drive in a National Park in Switzerland with a scooter… The park is really nice and has some beautiful sights, it is definitely worth a visit when staying in Taiwan.
On Sunday we went to a beach and the harbour in Hualien and later in the afternoon we decided to go back to Taipei. The trains were full and we couldn’t get a ticket for the next train. For the next train we could get two seats, and the rest of us had to sit on the floor… But at least we got back to Taipei.
Here are some pictures.

P.S. sorry for the late update, life was a little bit busy with studying lately.
